Flanagan Pritz C, Nelson SJ, Willacker JJ, Eagles-Smith CA. 2022. Mercury data of individual dragonflies collected by the Dragonfly Mercury Project in National Park Units.. National Park Service

Comma-separated values (CSV) files containing mercury data from for all individual dragonflies collected by the ongoing Dragonfly Mercury Project. Currently, data are available from 2009-2020 collections of dragonflies. Each data file consists of rows representing individual dragonflies, and columns that include the sample IDs, species, collection site and date, and tissue Hg concentrations. Multiple files represent successive years of data releases from the USGS Contaminant Ecology Research Lab, which analyzes mercury in the dragonflies collected by park volunteers and staff. The data from this reference are available in summary form in the peer-reviewed journal article Eagles-Smith C, Willacker JJ, Nelson SJ, Flanagan Pritz CM, Krabbenhoft DP, Chen CY, Ackerman JT, Grant E, Pilliod DS. A National-Scale Assessment of Mercury Bioaccumulation in United States National Parks Using Dragonfly Larvae As Biosentinels through a Citizen-Science Framework. :8779-8790 (https://irma.nps.gov/DataStore/Reference/Profile/2283756), or can be accessed via the USGS interactive Dragonfly Mercury Project Dashboard (https://wim.usgs.gov/geonarrative/dmpdatadashboard/). The data in this reference are for use in the Mercury Condition Index Tool only and should not be used for other purposes without permission from the steward(s).
