This booklet is intended to introduce beginners to the diversity of lichens in Alaska north of the Alaska Range. It includes 39 species descriptions, plus over 30 additional species noted in the ‘similar species’ sections, seven pages of introductory material, and a glossary. It will likely be a useful starting point for naturalists in Southwest and Southcentral Alaska, but the species selected and ‘similar species’ described are not tailored to those areas.
