Ninety Six National Historic Site, Water Quality Monitoring, Fiscal Year 2025

Meiman J. 2026. Ninety Six National Historic Site, Water Quality Monitoring, Fiscal Year 2025. National Park Service

The Cumberland Piedmont Network Inventory and Monitoring Program began long-term water quality monitoring at Ninety Six National Historic Site in fiscal year 2004. Water quality is measured quarterly on alternate years at four sites; Star Fort Lake, Tolbert Branch, and the east and west boundary crossings of Henley Creek. Based upon program requirements and findings of the water quality inventory, parameters were chosen for long-term monitoring including the field measures of water temperature, specific conductance, pH, and dissolved oxygen. Samples were also collected for laboratory analysis of Escherichia coli (E. coli). This brief summarizes data collected from April 2004 through August 2025, highlighting November 5, 2024, through August 5, 2025 (the spring sampling event was canceled due to travel restrictions).
