Webinar: Invasive Plant Trends and a Strategic Planning Tool, All Hope is Not Lost (1:12:02)

Miller K and Perles S. 2020. Webinar: Invasive Plant Trends and a Strategic Planning Tool, All Hope is Not Lost (1:12:02)

Webinar presented by Kate Miller and Stephanie Perles, of the I&M Eastern Forests Working Group. Recent findings from the NPS Inventory and Monitoring Program provide park-specific information on invasive plant species trends in 39 eastern national parks. Nearly all the parks had at least one significant increasing trend in invasive abundance. In this webinar you can find out which species is slowly blanketing eastern parks, where you can find information specific to your park(s), and who wins the invasive-on-invasive competition. Managing invasive plant species can seem an endless, insurmountable drain on park staff time and budgets. Given limited resources and increasing invasives, strategic management is necessary to effectively combat invasive species. This webinar presents a straightforward tool that creates a prioritized plan to protect the most valued places in your park and lays out a path towards successful management.
