This is a common and widespread species in, primarily, eastern North America from southern Canada to Florida and west to the 100th Meridian, with an outstanding record from British Columbia. (Oliver Flint, 1/25/10)

Notes
The pupal period seems to average around 8-9 days, and the adult stage in captivity is about a week: the larval and egg stages occupying the rest of the year. (Oliver Flint, 1/25/10)
