Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Perennial herb. Spikelets tinted maroon. Aug.-Oct. Shrub succession, woodland, roadsides. Infrequent on the island, mostly near the State Park. Frequent throughout MD. Reported as Triodia flava (L.) Smyth by Higgins (Higgins #81), a synonym. MD & VA. Slide: B8f-79. Reported by Higgins from one station, lighthouse, on VA end./
