This species inhabits a wide variety of habitats from dry open fields and forests to bottomland forests in a wide range of elevations. Reported as one of the most common species of ants in the park by Cole (1940) and Lessard et al. (2007). MacGown and Hill also found it to be common. Park Distribution: NC, TN (Annotated List 9/5/19)
