Park Species Detail: Unconfirmed: The references and observation citing this taxon have no supporting voucher specimens. Reliable field observation(s) by Steve J. Popovich (see observation record), but considered "unconfirmed" until voucher specimen is collected. Bromus squarrosus, which is locally common in this Park Unit, is regularly mis-identified by the local less experienced as Bromus japonicus. Bromus japonicus occurs only sparingly in this Park Unit. Probability of presence in this Park Unit of this taxon is high (it has been reliably observed in the field by S. Popovich but no voucher specimen has yet been collected for positive verification). Habitat in this Park Unit = Generally occurring (or expected to occur) throughout the Park Unit, usually except at greatest elevations of the foothills, often in disturbed or weedy sites.
