Notes
Park Species Detail: Witt (1997) Reports this species in areas adjacent to the park. Russell (1984?) common spring migrant, common to very common fall migrant. Bond (1969) transients on MDI. Palmer (1949) 1 observed on MDI on 20 October 1940. Bond (19??) Common Transient; [Note: recorded as Ringed Plover (Charadrius hiaticula semipalmatus); I assume that this is the Semipalmated Plover; GHM]. Sullivan (1937): transient, common in April and may and from July to September (Pellew). Eliot (1931): observed on MDI by Mr. And Mrs. C.R. Robbins at Northeast Harbor during 1916. Allen (1899): common migrant in August on MDI between 1880 and 1899.
