Park Species Detail: Wiegand, 2001b: An uncommon plant species occur in slightly more elevated areas of overwash savanna and woodland habitat, where flooding is less frequent and less intense. Woodland sunflower (Helianthus divancatus) was seen at a single location Only 16 flowering plants were seen. This species is fairly common and widespread immediately upriver and likely occurs on Chain Bridge Flats more frequently than indicated here. Found at 1 site.
