Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Shrub. Fruits blue-black, glaucous, edible and sweet. April-May. Fresh marsh, bog, shrub succession, perhaps also woodland, in wet sand. Infrequent but widespread on the island, frequent throughout MD. Distinguished from #330 (ASIS Herbarium number = Vaccinium caesariense) by the glaucous, blueish fruits rather than black glossy fruits. (Higgins #317).
