Occurrence Notes
An irregular spring, summer, and early fall visitor to wooded areas throughout the region. First seen in the region near Desert View in 1976 (Bryan T. Brown), it was regularly sighted and appeared to be colonizing the North Rim in the late 1970s and early 1980s (Brown et al. 1987). Since then, it continues to be sighted irregularly in spring and summer on both rims. There remains no confirmation of breeding. Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011. Annotated Checklist of the Birds of the Grand Canyon Region. 3rd edition.
