A casual summer, fall, and winter visitor to the northern part of the region. There are only a handful of published records. One was seen several times on the Kaibab Plateau during July 1965, two were seen feeding on a dead bison in House Rock Valley on 13 Oct 1973 (D.E. Brown), another was at Crystal Springs on the Kaibab Plateau on 7 Nov 1968 (H.G. Reynolds), and a long-staying individual was near the small community of Mount Trumbull from 21 Oct to 28 Dec 1968 (Pat Bundy, John H. Riffey). Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011.
