Notes
Park Species Detail: Killip, 1953: The species was reported only from the mainland in the 1935 list. (July 19, 1936, becoming frequent subsequently.)Maxon, 1935: Known only from the mainland. Species included on the strength of satisfactory records, but no specimen is preserved. Wiegand, 2001b: occurs in scoured habitats slightly elevated above the lowest areas along the river, and in low scour prairie and overwash savanna habitats. Blue vervain (Verbena hastata) was scattered as individuals and small groups along the river. It was not abundant, but it was well dispersed throughout the area. A large group of Fringed loosestrife (Lysimachia ciliata) was seen in open, floodplain forest habitat below Fletcher's Boathouse. Found at 4 sites. A watch list (and otherwise uncommon) plant species known to occur within the District of Columbia portion of LOCO (along the C&O Canal NHP and Potomac River from the Maryland line to Key Bridge, Washington, D.C.), Park Species Data Source: Killip, 1953;Maxon, 1935;Wiegand, 2001;Wiegand, 2001b;
