Park Species Detail: "The Greenish rat snake (Elaphe obsoleta "parallela") was collected on Shackleford by Engles in 1940. It was described by Barbour and Engles as a new subspecies. This individual is the type "parallela" and is now in the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zool., Park Species Data Source: CALO, 1977
