Cole (1940) did not find this ant to be common, but found it in isolated spots throughout the park. MacGown and Hill collected this ant in an open mixed pine-hardwood forest along the Hyatt Lane cutoff in Cades Cove and in old-growth forest above Laurel Falls. Park Distribution: NC, TN (Annotated List 9/5/19)
