Notes
Park Species Detail: Russell (1984?) common spring and fall migrant; accidental in winter. Spring maximum of 115 near Bass Harbor on 29 March 1963 (P. Douglas), also 3 near the Trenton Bridge on 22 April 1972 (W. Russell et al.). Most frequently found on the outer islands and on the rocky tops of mountains. Bond (19??) not common transient and winter resident; nests in the interior of Maine. Tyson and Bond (1941): Seen in the park on MDI (see observation) also at Bar Harbor on November 11, 1932. Sullivan (1937): Uncommon fall and winter visitor; seen in Bar Harbor on 12 November 1936; one seen on Dike Peak on 9 October 1934; seen at Bar Harbor on 11 November 1937. Eliot (1931): observed on MDI by Mr. And Mrs. C.R. Robbins on 21 September 1916., Park Species Data Source: Witt (1997); Tyson and Bond (1941)
