A few plants were found by Supt. Stockert growing on an old homesite near the eastern corner of the Battlefield (Sieren, 1984).

A subtropical species adventive in our area from further south, it could easily be eliminated if desired, and probably will be inasmuch as it is in the right-of way for the construction of the route N. C. 210 bypass around the Battlefield.
