Park Species Detail: Mittelhauser (1991) 250 observed from Great Head to Hunter's Beach on 20 January 1991; 750 observed from Seawall Point to Ship Harbor area on 20 January 1991. Long (1987): small flocks of ducklings and females feed in the shallow waters at Wonderland in Seawall in June. Russell (1984?) abundant to very abundant at all seasons, abundant breeder. Bond (1969) may be observed at sea south and southwest of MDI in summer. Bond (19??) resident; frequently seen in summer; abundant in winter. Tyson and Bond (1941): Often seen in the vicinity of Indian Point on MDI; abundant in winter.
