Notes
Park Species Detail: Checklist information (abundance, nativity) updated 4/11/03 by professional judgement of Bruce Connery, ACAD wildlife biologist. Witt (1997) and Jones (1986) report this species in areas adjacent to the park. Russell (1984?) Hand-written note mentions that 1979 was a flight year for this owl with the following observations: 2 at Salisbury Cove February to 11 May 1979 (C. Jellison; MBL 1(2)), 1 at Pretty Marsh on 4 February 1979; and 2 on Cranberry Island on 18 February 1979. Also notes a record of 1 at Bass Harbor on 23 January 1977 (Arthur Silver; photo Stan Grierson). Sullivan (1937): Very rare visitor; occasional in winter
