Notes
Park Species Detail: per Stephenson: This is the least common of the two species of Lepus found on the Paunsagunt. What was probably the same individual was observed twice, 1/2 mile S. of the VC in BRCA during Feb. 1961. No subsequent observations were made during the year. Concerted efforts to find the species during the spring and summer of 1961 failed to reveal any in the park. This may indicate the species to be a seasonal migrant into the Paunsagunt area. One DOR specimen collected 1/4 mile north of the Park on Hwy. 12. Skull only preserved, in collection of Idaho State College. This specimen was collected by seasonal ranger Dick Sense in Novermber, 1960, and was an adult male in transitional pelage., Park Species Data Source: NCPN master mammal list (Bogan 2000), Bibkey #141330
