Notes
Park Species Detail: Taxonomic confusion exists between this species and P. perfoliatus - see 1992 TNC Delaware River Aquatic Plant Survey, p. 289, for discussion. Collected from the Delaware River near Shawnee Island in 1947. Specimens collected by Wahl in 1959 as P. perfoliatus were later redetermined as P. richardsonii. Some material from Penna. has been previously been segregated as P. richardsonii. However, an analysis of leaf measurements of 105 specimens from throughout Penna. showed no basis for separation. All specimens were determined to be P. perfoliatus., Park Species Data Source: Updated by William Olson, July, 2003.
