Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Perennial herb, July-September. Shrub succession, disturbed sands. Infrequent to rare on Assateague, found only at North Beach. Infrequent in MD overall. Reported by Higgins as D. rigidum (Ell.) DC., usually considered a synonym, and considered to be very rare according to the MNHP, (Higgins #235), no specific location on her specimen. MD only?
