This is one of the most common species of chrysopid in eastern North America. It is known from southern Canada to Florida and west to the 100th Meridian and into northeastern Mexico and Bermuda. (Oliver Flint, 1/25/10)

The larvae do not make trash packets. The adults overwinter and are especially common in early spring and late fall when leaving or entering hibernation. (Oliver Flint, 1/25/10)
