Park Species Detail: Stupka (1963) provides the most recent published records; Alsop (2001) lists as a breeder but the Park Observations contain no breeding records; may have formerly bred in the park widely before the forest matured; breeds in adjacent parts of park counties ATBI Sensitivity = Public Species Notes: Uncommon Migrant, Uncommon Summer Resident; Breeds in Park; Composed of two groups which are sometimes regarded as separate species: SPURIUS (Orchard Oriole) and FUERTESI (Ochre or Fuertes`s Oriole) (AOU 1983, 1998). Probably a sister taxon to I. CUCULLATUS (AOU 1998). STATUS: Native, Migratory, Rare, Present in Park;; ; General Notes: Stupka (1963) provides the most recent published records; Alsop (2001) lists as a breeder but the Park Observations contain no breeding records; may have formerly bred in the park widely before the forest matured; breeds in adjacent parts of park counties in each state.
