Notes
Park Species Detail: Moyle, 1976 states that G. a. aculeatus is a valid species. NOTE: this specimen appears to have been taken in the same collection as g. a. microcephalus by P. Needham who was the ichthyology professor at U.C. Berkeley. I (Dale Roberts) think it issafe to say that Needham could tell the two subspecies of sticklebacks apart., Park Species Data Source: California Academy of Sciences Collection of Golden Gate National Recreational Area Fish Voucher samples, compiled by Darren Fong 2003, BibKey # 551790
