Note: Artemisia tridentata var. tridentata is uncommon in this Park Unit, and is restricted to deep, well-drained soils at lower elevations; deeper, wetter soils of unburned kipuka toeslopes, and watered cracks of lava flows. Reference citations of "Artemisia tridentata" usually refer to Artemisia tridentata var. wyomingensis, unless specific to the foothills at greater elevations, which refer to Artemisia tridentata var. vaseyana. Habitat in this Park Unit = Generally occurring (or expected to occur) throughout the Park Unit, usually except at greatest elevations of the foothills; often in mesic-tending swales.
