LSU voucher specimen by Platt s.n. was identified as Rhynchospora colorata by D.M. Ferguson (2008). It was collected along the long term ecological transect in 2004. Tulane University voucher specimen by Muth s.n. (8 May 1990) was correctly identified and confirmed as Rhynchospora colorata by C. Reid (1999) and D.M. Ferguson (2008).; Data Source: Urbatsch, L.
