Park Species Detail: Terrell, 1970: Common to locally abudant, especially along canal. Fl. Mid April through May. Cranberry Meadows, 1997: Abundant, Cranberry Meadows; Occasional, Chain Bridge Flats below Arizona Bridge; Abundant, Chain Bridge Flats above Arizona Bridge and Chain Bridge Flats above Chain Bridge. BioBlitz, 1997-Chain Bridge Flats: Little Falls & upper Chain Bridge, Allen Belden, VA NHP. Prairie Savannah, rocks; all over, abundant. Wiegand, 2001b: A previously reported occurrence for Field chickweed (Cerastium antense), listed as a highly rare plant species in D.C., was successfully updated during 1999-2000 field surveys. More than 100 flowering plants were growing in sandy substrateSuitable habitat for field chickweed is abundant in the vicinity, so this occurrence could be more extensive than reported here.Status surveys for this species are highly recommended to fully determine its current status at Chain Bridge Flats Survey Site. Found at 1 site.
