Notes
Lampropeltis pyromelana (Sonoran Mountain Kingsnake) is an uncommon species that occurs in isolated populations. Sightings have been recorded from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and inhabits thickly vegetated ravines of the Transition Life Zone. Specimens have been reported from the North Kaibab Trailhead, Bright Angel Point, and North Rim Ranger Station. In 2006, a report published by the Arizona Game and Fish Department noted the undocumented presence of the species in the forested areas of the South Rim despite it being suitable habitat.
