Park Species Detail: Lea, Chris (2003):. Eupatorium leucolepis is listed as a Threatened species and is rare to uncommon in Maryland (Maryland Wildlife and Heritage Division 2001).
Eupatorium leucolepis (DC.) Torr. & Gray var. leucolepis. SAVANNA THOROUGHWORT. Asteraceae. Present on MD end (Lea, 2003) Native. Perennial herb. Jul-Oct. Shrub succession, "bog" Infrequent. Reported from Virginia end by Stalter and Lamont (1990). Collector Hamilton #232./
Hamilton, 2004: See Folder # 234.5, ASIS Herbarium, ASIS Acc# =ASIS-00321 Catalog#=ASIS 1742 ; this plant (referring to Eupatorium album) was misidentified and is renamed Eupatorium leucolepis var leucolepis, described in Lea, 2003. Voucher specimens probable at MARY and CNWR./
