Park Species Detail: Shriner (2001) provides the most recent published records; Stupka (1963) provides a breeding record; Park Observations records indicate this is a year-round resident; park collections house one park specimen; Chicago Academy of Sciences houses two park sp ATBI Sensitivity = Public Species Notes: Common Permanent Resident; Breeds in Park; Formerly in genus PARUS; transferred to BAEOLOPHUS by AOU (1997). Population in northern and western Texas and Mexico sometimes has been regarded as a separate species, B. ATRICRISTATUS (Black-crested Titmouse), but it interbreeds freely with BICOLOR in e STATUS: Native, Breeder, Common, Present in Park;; ; General Notes: Shriner (2001) provides the most recent published records; Stupka (1963) provides a breeding record; Park Observations records indicate this is a year-round resident; park collections house one park specimen; Chicago Academy of Sciences houses two park specimens.
