Notes
Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Annual herb, or biennial. Flowers white; local herb with glistening gland-dotted leaf hairs. Aug.-Sept. Bogs. Infrequent but widely distributed on the island. Infrequent but widespread throughout MD. This plant catches tiny insects on its sticky leaves and digests them as its source of nitrogen. It is one of two insect-eating plants on Assateague. (The other is Utricularaia). Drosera capillaris Poir. possibly also occurs. (Higgins #211). MD & VA.
