Park Species Detail: Hill: 1986: Introduced to island, but apparently native to MD. Perennial herb, very fibrous and leaves persistent. Shrub succession, at house sites. Rare on Assateague, seen only at Peoples & Lynch cabin at Green Run, evidently planted there. Frequent to infrequent escape in MD, possibly native. Often assigned to family Agavaceae.
