Davis (1958) found egg masses in stream between Eagle Lake and Bubble Pond. Hunter et al. (1999) eggs are laid in a hollow in damp substrate usually within 50 cm of a stream.

Park Species Detail: Coman (1987, 1981) present at Bubble Brook Pond, Cromwell Brook, the inlet of the Tarn, and the inlet brook of the Breakneck Ponds.
Davis (1958) 19 individuals were observed and 6 specimens were collected during 1957 field work on MDI; Details of observations are included in report, many observations are within park boundaries. Common in certain brooks in ANP on MDI during 1957.
Manville (1939) Occurs under rocks in various streams and in springs on MDI.
Manville (1938) Many specimens listed from MDI, including one from within park boundaries: 1 in a spring at the foot of Champlain Mountain on 8 July 1938 (URO-19; P. Favour). Observed from Hadlock Brook below Pulpit Rock on 11 July 1938 (R. Manville) and under a rock in Hull's Cove Brook on 20 July 1938 (R.
