Notes
Park Species Detail: Lea, 2000: Carex lupuliformis Sartwell ex Dewey (Hoplike Sedge)Rare. Edge of forested vernal pool, near Widewater. Although this species has been listed as watchlist (Maryland Natural Heritage Program, 1994), it is quite rare in Maryland, is considered highly rare in Virginia (Killeffer, 1999), and, evidently, is somewhat uncommon throughout its range (W. McAvoy,Delaware Natural Heritage Program, unpublished data). It is very similar to, and often confused with, the common C. lupulina. This is the first report of the species for the Potomac Gorge, for Montgomery County, and for the Maryland Piedmont. Mid-June to early July. 2092 (US); 1259 (MARY); 1258 (GMUF); 1256 (MICH); 1260 (Tawes); 1257 (Dnhp). Wiegand, 2001: Documented from Maryland during this survey from Sandy Hook, Maryland, to District of Columbia line.Watch List plant species, not officially listed by the State of Maryland nor by the Maryland Wildlife and Heritage Division., Park Species Data Source: Lea, 2000;Wiegand, 2001
