Notes
Park Species Detail: Synonym = Agropyron intermedium, Agropyron intermedium var. intermedium, Agropyron intermedium var. trichophorum, Agropyron trichophorum, Elytrigia intermedia, Elytrigia intermedia ssp. intermedia, Elytrigia intermedia ssp. trichophora, Elytrigia trichophora. Synonym = ITIS database is mis-spelled as Elytrigia tricophora; correct spelling is Elytrigia trichophora. -Steve Popovich, 4/2005. Material in this Park Unit fits both (in part) material with glabrous lemmas: Agropyron intermedium, Agropyron intermedium var. intermedium, Elytrigia intermedia, Thinopyrum intermedium, and (in part) material with hirsute lemmas: Elytrigia intermedia var. trichophora, Elytrigia trichophora, Agropyron intermedium var. trichophora, and Thinopyrum trichophorum. Steve Popovich and Michael Curto (Herbarium OBI) do not carry forward infraspecific assignments of plant material based upon lemma hirsuteness from this Park Unit, although there is a distinction in ecological amplitude and rangeland rehabilitation suitability between the two races. - Steve Popovich, 4/2005.
Synonym = ITIS "Accepted Sci. Name" = Thinopyrum intermedium.
Note: We do not choose to differentiate material with hirsute lemmas typically assigned to race trichophorum from material without hirsute lemmas typically assigned to the nominal type. Both races have been observed in this Park Unit. -Steve Popovich and Michael Curto (OBI), 4/2005. Habitat in this Park Unit = Generally restricted to non-foothills BLM-administered land within this Park Unit; often in disturbed areas or weedy sites. Original data for this Park-Name Profile record were derived and entered by Steve J. Popovich, based upon a preponderance of evidence and the best scientific and commercial data available, including all specimen verifications by, and personal knowledge of project, park, and regional experts. Regional floral manuals used included: Intermountain Flora - Vascular Plants of the Intermountain West (1972-2005), A Utah Flora (2003), Flora of the Pacific Northwest (1973), Flora of North America (1993-2006), The Cruciferae of Continental North America (1993), various botanical monographs, Western U.S. floras, and other botanical works such as Weeds of the West (1996), USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service PLANTS database, and Natural Heritage Program, Idaho Conservation Data Center Element Occurrence database., Park Species Data Source: Original data derived by Steve J. Popovich 1999-2007 based upon a preponderance of evidence and the best scientific and commercial data available, University of Idaho Contract P.O. No. P0011391., Accepted Detail: Antiquated preferred local name = Agropyron intermedium.
