Park Species Detail: Wiegand, 2001b: an uncommon watchlist plant occurring in elevated areas of scour prairie and overwash savanna habitat where soils are well-drained and often dry during the growing season. Slender dayflower (Commelina erecta) was seen at only a single area within this survey site during the current survey. No other plants were seen in this area, despite the presence of abundant suitable habitat for the dayflower. Found at 1 site. A watch list (and otherwise uncommon) plant species known to occur within the District of Columbia portion of LOCO (along the C&O Canal NHP and Potomac River from the Maryland line to Key Bridge, Washington, D.C.) Also a`listed species in Maryland. Wiegand, 2001: Documented from Maryland during this survey from Sandy Hook, Maryland, to District of Columbia line.Watch List plant species, not officially listed by the State of Maryland nor by the Maryland Wildlife and Heritage Division.
