Notes
Park Species Detail: Connery et al. (1998): Reported this species during searches of watersheds within the park on MDI during 1997. Coman (1987, 1981) abundant and widely distributed on MDI; found at the top of Cadillac Mountain by P. Favour (no dates given). Davis (1961): 2 spring peepers were observed, one at Otter Point and the other at Bass Harbor Head; both were located in low conifers during the fall of 1958. Davis (1960) found under plastic cover on a trailer north of Sand Beach during late June 1958 (S. Davis); also hundreds of recently transformed individuals found on the new Champlain Mountain Road at night on 26 August 1958 (S. Davis and R. Davis); breeding began during the week of 19 April 1958, in full chorus by 28 April 1959. Davis (1958) 1 tadpole of this species was observed and collected during 1957 field work on MDI. 2 observations listed (with details) from within park. Manville (1939) has been seen at Bar Harbor, Clark's Cove, and in the woods south of The Tarn. Manville (1938) 2 specimens listed including a specimen from 1/2 mile south of The Tarn on 19 October 1934 (ANU-12; V. Lunt); 2 observations listed for MDI., Park Species Data Source: Connery et al.
