Notes
Park Species Detail: Witt (1997) and Long (1987) report this species in areas adjacent to the park. Sharp (1997) Recorded from within park boundaries during the Breeding Bird Survey conducted June 1996. North and Chidester (1986) Observed from Jordan Cliffs between July and September 1986. Russell (1984?) very common breeder, accidental in winter; unknown migratory status. Duley and North (1984) observed at Jordan Cliffs between May and September 1984. Favour (1970): observed during the MDI CBC on 31 December 1965. Bond (1969) abundant and conspicuous summer resident on MDI. Bond (19??) common summer resident; 1 or more nests have been found. Tyson and Bond (1941): Common summer resident of MDI; an entirely albinistic individual was observed at Asticou. Sullivan (1937): Resident, common in summer, occasional in winter (Pellew). Farley (1935) observed 18+ pairs on MDI, observed between 12 June and 22 June 1934. Anthony (1933): 7 banded at Great Head between 12 August 1929 and 26 June 1933. Eliot (1931): Common in the Northeast Harbor area, distributed over whole area, settled or wild. Also observed on MDI by Mr. And Mrs. C.R. Robbins on 1 June 1916 and 3 June 1916. Reiche and Burton (1924) observed or collected in the Oak Meadow region east of Newport (=Champlain) Mountain between 1 July and 8 August, 1924.
