A rare and local summer resident, breeding in shrubby montane wetlands within ponderosa pine and mixed conifer forests on the Kaibab Plateau. The Arizona Breeding Bird Atlas also confirmed an instance of breeding in ponderosa-oak forest on Mount Logan. Elsewhere in the region, MacGillivray’s Warbler is a fairly common spring and common fall migrant. Data source: Gatlin, BP. 2011. (Geothlypis tolmiei) * MacGillivray’s Warbler is a rare and local summer resident, breeding in shrubby montane wetlands within ponderosa pine and mixed conifer forests on the Kaibab Plateau.
