Park Species Detail: Opuntia polycantha var. polyacantha and var. erinacea intergrade freely, and distinction between these two varieties in the field becomes blurred. Habitat in this Park Unit = Generally occurring (or expected to occur) throughout the Park Unit, usually except at greatest elevations of the foothills.
