Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Annual, but forms perennial overwintering sructures. Rarely flowers, July-Aug. Ponds. Rare, reported by Higgins from the impoundments, Wildlife Refuge (Higgins #111). Specimens not found at MARY, but present in Assateague Island National Seashore collection (Higgins, 8/24/67, no specific location). VA only
/Hamilton, 2004: While Hill did not find a Higgins specimen at MARY, O'Connell (voucher search project) did find a specimen at MARY, Higgins number unknown. No specimens are stored in ASIS Herbarium. Voucher specimen probable at CNWR./, Park Species Data Source: Hill, 1986
