Park Species Detail: Connery et al. (1998): Reported this species (egg masses observed) during searches of watersheds within the park during 1997. Coman (1987; 1981): Found at many sites on MDI. Davis (1960) young form found in basement of Hamilton Station, Jackson Laboratory on 28 October 1958 (C. Terman); also adult found beside the experimental field of Hamilton Station, Jackson Laboratory on 28 October 1958 (C. Terman); also found in a moist field north of Hamilton Station, Jackson Laboratory on 18 November 1958 (R. Terman); also young found at Bear Brook Picnic area on 27 June 1960. Davis (1958) 1 egg mass was observed (at Lurvey Spring, 1 mile south of Echo Lake) and 4 larvae specimens were collected during 1957 field work on MDI; details of observation are listed in report. Manville (1939) records from a gravel pit at Great Head, beneath loose soil at Sieur de Monts Spring, and on Flying Squadron Mountain. Manville (1938) many specimens on MDI listed, including one taken from Flying Squadron Mountain 100 feet above the Tarn on 2 October 1934 (URO-11; V. Lunt); Lower Mountain Road above Eagle Lake on 21 October 1934 (URO-12; L. Fowler); and in a gravel pit near Satterlee Estate, Great Head on 30 August 1935 (URO-14; V. Lunt).
