Notes
Park Species Detail: Lea, 2000: Carex striatula Michaux (Lined Sedge) Rare. In xeric oak-pine bedrock terrace forest. Seen only at Bear Island, with several historical collections elsewhere in the Gorge. Within the Gorge, specimens seem fairly distinct from C. laxiflora, although difficult intermediates between the two occur elsewhere in Maryland, and Manhart (1986) considered the two to be conspecific. C. striatula has been considered historical for in Maryland (Maryland Natural Heritage Program, 1994), but is known to occur in a number of locations in the state, and that assessment may have been because of identification difficulties. Late April to early June. 1922, Shreve 1467, Ward s.n. (US); 1378 (MARY)., Park Species Data Source: Lea, 2000
