Park Species Detail: Witt (1997) reports this species in areas adjacent to the park. Spring migration peaks during the last week of May, when a few birds show up in the marsh pools at Bass Harbor and near Thompson's Island.
Russell (1984?) Common spring migrant, abundant to very abundant fall migrant. Flock heard at night over Seawall on 7 July 1968 (P. Arnold). Birds show up in marsh pools at Bass Harbor and near Thompsons Island.
Bond (1969) transient often seen in summer on MDI.
