Park Species Detail: Fleming & Kanal, 1995: Edge. Proably planted. F988, 992, 994./ PCC, 2000: A single specimen of single oak was observed . . . The plant is a seedling about 0.8 meter (2.5 feet) tall . . . A beaver apparently had cut down the main stem of the plant, but it was resprouting and appeared healthy. Shingle oak is a watch list species in Maryland, meaning that it is rare to uncommon, with the number of locations where a population occurs typically ranging from 21 to 100 statewide./, Park Species Data Source: Fleming & Kanal, 1995; PCC, 2000;
