Notes
Park Species Detail: Checklist information (abundance) updated 4/9/03 by professional judgement of Bruce Connery, ACAD wildlife biologist. Witt (1997) notes that they are recently occurring on Mount Desert Island with increasing frequency. Jones (1986): Species occurs in the ANP region with such regularity (mainly in spring), that it is difficult to track individual records. Russell (1984?) 2 or 3 records of this species at Bass Harbor Marsh in 1960 and 1971. Favour (1974): Present in the Bass Harbor area. Palmer (1949) "In August, 1946, there was a flight , about 20 individuals being seen by various observers. Some of these went as far east as Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island." Bond (19??) casual visitant from the south on MDI., Park Species Data Source: Witt (1997); Russell (1984?); Favour (1974)
