A casual fall migrant throughout the region. There are six fall records: HawkWatch International observers saw individuals at Lipan Point on 5 Sept 1996 and 16 Sept 1992, Ludlow Griscom saw one in Cataract Canyon on 22 Sept 1926, one was photographed at Big Springs on the Kaibab Plateau on 1 Oct 2008 (Shaun Putz), another was at Meadview the next day, 2 Oct 2008, and another was seen by HawkWatch observers at Yaki Point on 29 Oct 1997. There is a single winter record of an immature bird seen at Quartermaster Canyon, RM 260, on 26-27 Feb 1998 (Charles T. LaRue, Roger K. Radd, Nikolle L. Brown, Casey A. Lott). Hawk (Buteo lineatus) Red-shouldered Hawk is a casual fall migrant throughout the region.
