Park Species Detail: Hill, 1986: Native. Perennial herb.. Fruiting Aug.-Sept. Fresh marsh, often wooded or with reeds. Frequent in the larger marshes on Assateague, fresh water to slightly brackish; also frquent throughout MD, reported by Higgins as Dryopteris thelypteris (L.) Gray (Higgins #6), a synonym. MD & VA.
